About Me
I graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1999 with an honours degree in Fine Art Photography. Through my studies and experiences I have developed two main objectives to my work
Contemporary Lifestyle Album Photography
At art school I studied the family album. It is the most popular document for recording personal histories. Even if your album is not well organised you will have one in the form of a book, a box or a computer file crammed with faces from the past.
Family Photographs often trigger a memory of the picture been taken and not the atmosphere of the occasion. It is my desire to produce lifestyle documentary photographs for people that show their characters, capture their experience and enrich their family albums.
Sports Photography
I have two other passions horse riding and skiing both adrenalin sports. As Alex Garland wrote in his book The Beach: ‘Paradise is not a place you can look for but it’s how you feel for a moment in time and if you find that moment it lasts forever’. My paradise is the moment of total adrenalin when you are suspended between fear and elation. It is my aim to capture these moments for people to keep forever.
The merging of these two Ideas results in my brand of photography.
